How to edit built-in filters?

When I go to my project homepage, there is a Filters dropdown in the top right with items like Resolved recently, Outstanding, Most important etc.

If I want to edit, say, ordering of one of those filters, how do I do that? When I click the filter, edit the query and hit Save, it prompts me to save a new filter and I can't find a way to amend the original one.

You'll need to change code in the core of Jira - those filters are effectively hard-coded in there (although I think it's actually in xml files, it needs compiling of one form or another)
