How to export Jira Filter Results in Excel and generate Pivot?

PSPRAVIN February 27, 2018

I am looking for a add-on to achieve the following:
- Based on Jira filter, the add-on should email the results to few emailID's or distribution group, on certain day and time repeatedly.
o These results, should be in sent in email as excel attachment.
o It should email/generate data, pivot tables and charts based on live data from Jira filters, as per the schedule.
- It should be able to pull results from custom fields too (custom fields created using add-ons like Dynamic forms, test management for Jira, script runner)

I tried "Better Excel Plugin", but it doesnt support custom fields created using Dynamic Forms and Script Runner add-ons.

Do you know any add-on, that can help me achieve my requirement?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend doing it this way at all.  The reporting you are asking for should be doable with Jira Gadgets and either displayable in a Jira Dashboard or by integrating the Jira Gadgets in to Confluence and then creating a "dashboard" of that reporting in Confluence.  If you do it this way, you can just ask the consumers of this data to look at the Confluence page in order to see real time data.

Im not aware of an easy way to do what you are asking for. Furthermore, the data is old immediately after the Excel sheet is created, so you're really not accomplishing what was set out. I know that doesn't answer the question, but this would be a better approach and is a lot less fragile.

Thanks for your response, and I understand your point.

But this report is meant for leadership, who dont want to login to Jira for reports. These reports may further be shared with non-Jira users for e.g. county leads and BA's. Hence we want to have it exported and sent via email.

The scope of this report is for CCB and hence once in two weeks is needed.

That's actually why I recommended the use of Confluence.  Organizations that use it find that leadership, project managers, etc are in there anyway, so it's a tool they already know how to use, and there is no need to ever log in to Jira to consume Jira data.  We work with a lot of organizations and have found that after seeing the power of displaying reporting this way, the red/yellow/green Powerpoint presos go away entirely.

Sorry I couldn't be of help solving the problem with Excel.  :)
