How to export all the data from comments field to excel file using jira.

Hi @Lisa New ,

Welcome to the community.

Create a filter for the issues you would like to export

Click on the Export issues > Export Excel  CSV (all fields)

That would give you to a lot of empty columns but it will also give you every single comment as a column with timestamp and userID.

@Lisa New (I saw you posted this question for the DC, too, but this one is for the Cloud.)

You can use the Better Excel Exporter app to export comments along with other issue fields to a spreadsheet like this:

As you see, comment author, time and text appear in separate columns having the correct data type.
