How to export data from Jira in real time?

I am creating a custom dashboard to display in the office. My thoughts are to use CanvasJS to take advantage of their sleek looking and numerous graph and chart options. I would like to be able to take our ticket information from Jira to track sprint progress in real time and incorporate that into my dashboard. Is there an easy way to be able to access that information or at all even? I realize that you can export XML files and go about it that way, but I would like for the dashboard to reflect progress changes automatically.

Do you realize that you can display Jira dashboard on wallboards (LCD displays) easily?

This is the documentation for an older Jira version, but this feature is still available. It just removes the decoration from the dashboard and uses a dark color scheme (to save some electrons and your display).
