How to export jira issue while retaining all fields?

IT Support September 16, 2024

I was only able to export ticket numbers when attempting to extract data from JIRA for the past few months. However, I need detailed information for each ticket, including categories such as severity, request type, time to first response, and more, but I couldn't achieve this. How can I export tickets from JIRA with all relevant categories (issue details) if there isn't a direct export option available?

Hi @IT Support

Adding to Robert's answer, you can try to use the Jira Cloud for Excel/Google Sheets option too.

You can export more than 1k issues while customising the fields information you need.

Hi @IT Support , welcome to Atlassian Community!

You should be able to export all issue data as part of the Issue Search functionality in Jira Cloud.

  1. First, you will need to navigate to the Issue Search view, which can be found by clicking "Filters" and then "View all issues".
  2. Once here, create a JQL filter that finds the Jira issues you're interested in exporting. I would recommend keeping this list short, as Jira cannot export more than 1000 issues at a time.
  3. Once you have a JQL filter you're happy with, in the top right, click the "Export Issues" dropdown, and then select one of the options that contain "All fields". This will export the issues in your chosen format with all relevant issue data included.

Here's another Community question that may have more details:

Hope that helps!
