How to extract Sprint dates and use them as dynamic filter in Dashboard's?

Syed Nabeel Anwer June 3, 2025

Running sprint cycle of 3 weeks. Incase any of the item spilled over into next sprint for comlpeting the life cycle of the user story, need to find out later in the sprints which sprint each user story is actually belongs to?

For exmaple, we are in sprint 6 and I want to show where are the user stories of sprint one are they completed or still spilling over sprint by sprint? Because that particular user story will also be counted in Sprint 2,3,4,5,6 as well. So how to make sure that only Sprint 1 related user stories are filtered!

Hey @syed

You could use and automation that triggers on sprint complete, that will add the sprint name to a label field.

So say "Story1" spills over from "Sprint1" you could have label field called "Original Sprint" which accepts the name of the sprint the story was from.

And if that story spills over again you could have the automation ignore a label field if it already has a value. You'd then be able to use this field to call in your reporting.

Thanks

Aaron.

Thanks Aaron for the response.

It will be more useful if somehow I can have the sprint dates in the dashboard for the reporting and this automation on Sprint completion basis will be board specific however I am looking for a solution that can be applied globally.
