How to find all issues that have been at some point to a given user or assignee?

Is it possible to identify all issues assigned to an "assignee" at somepoint in a given month even if they are NOT currently the "assignee"?

Trying to get a view into all the work a given assignee/assigned workgroup has worked on in a month on issues that get reassigned to someone else at somepoint during the development process.

Can we see the queries you're working with now? Assignee has 'historical' searching, so we can do something like – assignee WAS steve AFTER startOfMonth() BEFORE endOfMonth()
