How to find out the correct Maven dependency version depending on Jira version?

I'm creating a Java client for Jira 8.20.16 and I can't find which Maven version of "JIRA REST Java Client Public API" dependency should be used.

Where can I find the information about which versions works together?

Or maybe it has full backward compatibility and I should just use the latest dependency version.
