Hi,
I am a team member at a company. Our only Jira admin has left the company, and we no longer have access to administer our Jira Cloud site.
I would like to request that admin rights be transferred to my account.
Please advise on how I can reclaim admin access.
I created a support case on your behalf in https://getsupport.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/35/CA-3558271
From there our team should be able to help process this request.
Andy
Hi @Krish Komati ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community.
Unfortunately, this is not an easy thing to do, but:
- Was the Jira Admin who left using a company email or a personal email to work with Jira?
- Have you contacted the former Jira Admin so he can make you a Jira Admin?
- I don't see a resolution to this without the former Jira Admin cooperating in giving you Administrator permissions.
- I believe this question can be solved by Atlassian Support, so I have sent them a notification for them to answer you right here.
Hope this helps!
Fede.

Thanks for responding!
1. It's a company email and I don't think it's working. I can check on that. If it's working do you have any inputs?
2. No response from my former colleague.
3. I feel the same. But there is no easy way to get hold of Atlassian support. I can't even open a request with them because only Atlassian Account admins, billing contacts, and technical contacts can create support requests for Atlassian Account. This is so frustrating.

Hi @Krish Komati ,
thanks for answering.
- If it's a company email, you can use this as proof of ownership to regain admin access with Atlassian Support.
- If the former colleague does respond, maybe re-stating access to him to that company email only to provide Admin access back to you.
- I have marked this post so that Atlassian Support can help you with this through here, and they can surely help you create a proper support ticket and all. But maybe you can gather proof of ownership on the Jira instance.
I'm sure Atlassian Support will be able to help you with this. Hope they do and hope this helps!
