Hello!
So I'm taking over our Jira and I want to tighten up our use of Labels and Categories.
There are a lot of old Labels but I can't work out how to delete them. I've bulk-removed all labels from existing issues but they are still showing up as default labels.
Is anyone able to help?
To remove the labels, you can follow this handy guide:
How are you deleting the labels? By using the bulk delete option?
From those issues you've bulk deleted, the labels are still showing?
It might be worth exploring a third-party app for this. Jira itself isn't very good at managing or deleting labels in bulk.

Hello!
Yes I bulk removed all labels from existing issues, I had thought this would then remove the labels from the "default label" dropdown but they're still showing a day later.
I've ready the article you've linked but think this only covers how to remove a label rather than delete it from Jira altogether, am uncertain if the app mentioned in the article has this ability.

Hi Beth,
You can try in Ingocnito or other broswer.
This issue could be due to index/cache replication that will eventually synchronize, or it may require clearing and reloading the browser cache.
Hope this helps.
