With our Jira cloud app Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards you can sum up any number field with our statistics gadgets.

The "Quick Issue Statistics" gadget seems to be suitable for your use case. The example below shows a statistic for "components" and some number fields. But of course it's also possible to configure it for "assignee" and any other number field.
