I switched to the sidebar view in the backlog page of a next-gen project. Now I don't have the option to switch to the dialogue view.
If I do the same thing in the board page, I do have the option to switch back to the dialogue view.
I've tried going to personal settings and turning the 'New Jira issue view' off and back on again.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Just do the same thing you did before. In the menu of the issue choose dialogue view instead.
As I mentioned, this option appears on issues in the board page for me, but not the backlog page:
Are you seeing that option in the backlog page?

Sorry, missed that part, are you sure that you where ever in dialogue view in backlog. I cannot remember ever being in that view mode there, i even tried creating an entire new project and there the default is the sidebar view as well.

Now you're making me doubt myself. A little silly for it to be available in the Board page, but not the Backlog page...

did you solve it? For me it was dialog but for some reason it always opens in sidebar now. I have a small Mac screen and side panel view is almost useless.
