How do I hide fields for creating issues, but show them for view / edit issues?

Hello,

You can configure different screens for create, edit and view. All you need to do is create three (or two different screens according to your need), add customfields you like and associate these screens to create, edit and view on your screen scheme. Check out the screenshot below:
