Hi All,
Is there a way we can hide menus (Apps, Teams etc.) for specific user groups? e.g. our external users are able to view these options (as per the attachment) and we need to restrict this.
Kindly advise.
I can confirm that inside of Jira Cloud that it is not possible to hide UI Elements with ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud like you can do with the server version as the cloud version does not have the Hide UI Element built-in script like the server version does, due to the fact, the API's this requires do not exist inside of Jira Cloud.
I am also unaware of any other way to hide UI elements inside of Jira Cloud as I do not believe Atlassian allow this in Jira Cloud-like they do in Jira Server.
I hope this information helps.
Hello @Manhar Sharma ,
To hide menus such as Apps and Teams for specific user groups, you can follow these steps:
Log in to your Jira instance as an administrator.
Go to the administration section by clicking on the gear icon in the top right corner and selecting "Jira settings" or "Administration."
In the administration menu, navigate to the "System" section and click on "Global Permissions."
Review the existing global permissions and identify the user group(s) you want to restrict access for. Note the name of the group(s) or create a new group if necessary.
Once you have the user group(s) identified, go to the "Project settings" section in the administration menu and click on "Permissions" or "Permission schemes."
Choose the appropriate permission scheme that is assigned to the projects where you want to hide the menus.
Edit the permission scheme and locate the specific permission related to the menu you want to hide. In your case, it could be something like "Browse Projects," "View Apps," or "Manage Teams."
Remove the user group(s) that you want to restrict access for from the permission. This will prevent them from seeing the corresponding menu or feature.
Save the changes to the permission scheme.
