How to hide the history of a ticket with sensitive information?

If someone were to accidentally put sensitive information into a ticket or a comment - you can delete that information, but the exposed sensitive information is still in the history.

I am wondering if you can hide the history of that ticket so that the exposed information cannot be seen.

Is there a way to prevent people from seeing history with exposed sensitive information?

There's a long-standing problem with JIRA's comments in that they do not have a history - if you edit or delete a comment, it's not tracked, so you can destroy the sensitive information that way.

But issue history - no, on Cloud, your only real option is to delete the issue.  You can clone it first to preserve the current field data and drop the history and comments though.  (There's a longer-winded option of exporting, editing and importing, but it's not "fun")
