How to import issues to a project with no components and Component/s mandatory field

Hi,

We are using JIRA server 7.8.0. 

One of our agents was trying to import Zephyr test cases from one project to another. He couldn't finish with the operation because of the following error:

Component/s field is required and the project "project name" does not have any components

This is because the source project contains many components within. In the source as well as in the destination project, the Component/s field is mandatory(Required).  Both are using the Default Field Configuration. 

However, we would like to avoid using the components at the destination project without altering the field configuration, just because it will affect other projects too.

I am currently looking into a potential workaround on this. So far, I have came up with the following:

1. Replicate the Field Configuration and change the Component/s Field to Optional

OR

2. Create a generic component and add all the test cases in a single component

Do you have any other idea on how can I achieve import without adding all the components into the destination project?
