How to keep parent and child issues in Sync

Hello,

I want to keep my child and parent issues in sync. For e.g. There's one story and it has 3 sub-tasks. By default, the story remains there in To Do status even though the sub-tasks are moved to the other columns.

What is want is that if my story has three sub-tasks. 2 of them are present in Ready for QA column and 1 is present is "In Progress" column, which means there's currently no task in To Do column and parent should be synced with In Progress Column where one of the sub-tasks is still present.

I hope I have made the question clear. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello @Hizkeel Khan

In my understanding, you wish to transition the Story based on the status of Sub-tasks.

I have done something similar for Epics, where I am moving the Epic to 'In Progress' status when the first issue under it moves to 'In Dev' (basically starts work) status. This can be customised based on your requirements.

Please explore the Atlassian documentation and templates for automation rules here.

Kindly accept the answer if this helps resolve the scenario.
