How to make consistent state change menus?

Menus shows transitions vs. menu shows statuses

different_status.pngWhy? How to change?

Entries missing

Some entries in the right dropdowns are missing (Open, Done). Instead they are shifted to the main menu. Why?

Transition -> Status

I remember a dropdown view where there was both: Transition arrow Status. How to get to this view? What influences it?

Overall, I think Jira often is inconsistent, at least by default. E.g. I don't get why in Sprint Board on dragging issues status do not appear on same column or if there is only one transition to that status.

Jira puts the first two transitions in front of the user, then shoves the rest into the "workflow" menu in order to preserve screen space.  It looks really daft when you've got several transitions causing the menu to line wrap inconsistently.

I'd say your admins named the transitions as "Name -> Status" manually.

first. I figured this out meanwhile. But do you think this is communicated well enough through the app?

second. Nope. I mean this.

The ticket that shows this dropdown has the same workflow. But appears to have a different status. WTH.
