Jira account managment is a real pain, and switching to LDAP solves only a part of the problem:
Now the problem is that poeple want to know which users left the company, so they can reassign the bugs to others.
In order to do that currently we **MANUALLY** rename each user that left and add "zzz" prefix to its name.
Is there a solution that would not require manual work?
I am open to alternative solutions, as long they solve this problem.
We have a similar issue. In OnDemand, we have an open under the General > User Management that is application access. Once we remove the users group from the inactive users, we also remove their access to Jira and Confluence. When looking at the everyone group, anyone without access has left.
I really wish that had the ability to filter or sort on those columns.
Another option is to group call inactive and when you remove them from the users group, add them to this group.
You could also add a property to a user and label that user as Inactive. If you have access to the db, then you could create a query directly in the db to pull all users that have the value that you define as inactive for that property.
