How to manage multiple projects in a single board under new JIRA design

Karl O'Brien August 13, 2018

We have been using JIRA Core to date and I have multiple projects and boards running. (For example.. Website A, Website B, Website C). Our DEV teams work across multiple projects at any one time in sprints. We have now upgraded to JIRA software so that we can have one sprint board. So basically, during our sprint planning we want to be able to pull tasks from multiple backlogs into our sprint backlog.

I have created a Sprint Board and set the filter query to:

project in ("website-a","website-b","website-c") but its not pulling in the tasks.

I had previously setup a trial of JIRA Software and tested it and it worked perfect so Im thinking it may be because the current projects we setup in JIRA Core not software.

Any suggestions as to how I can get this sorted?

Sounds like a permission issue. Can you check if you have a browse project permission to all 3 projects?

The board should pull the tasks irrespective of the project type. It should be able to pull issues from JIRA Core issues, JIRA Service Desk project or JIRA Software.

Are you able to test the filters on the issue navigator and see if there are any issues being shown?

Also, check the column configuration and see if the status is being mapped to the column.
