Hi, Supports,
I run into a problem that since Jira cloud instance can't support importing workflow and field configure, so the answers I found here were all telling me to do it manually.
Yet, It is quite hard for me to get a sense of how all this can work out.
My scenario goes like this:
3 issue types + 3 field configuration + 1 screen
Are there any videos or answers here?
Thank you so much, I did manage to reach that far.
Yet, my issue types did not match my screens, can you help me out here?
Hi @AllenH ,
You can create new issue types by going to Jira settings-> Issues
Add issue type:
(In this example I created Issueo'fun:
To Create Field Configuration go to Jira Settings-> Field Configurations-> Add Field Configurations:
After you create the new field configuration then you can configure the fields in it ( you can hide them, make them required or optional, and add them to screens):
Under Jira Settings-> Issues-> go to 'Field configuration schemes' and add a 'Field Configuration Scheme':
Select your Field Configuration Scheme (in my example, "Field Configuration Scheme O'Fun") and click on "Configure'. Associate this scheme to the Field Configuration that you created earlier, if you want to make it the default issue field:
You can associate specific issue types to field configurations by clicking on 'Associate an Issue Type with a Field Configuration' (if you have any issue type you don't want linked to the default configuration field):
For screens you can go to Jira settings-> Issues-> Screens-> Screens, and create one (or more):
Then you select the Fields:
Then you can Create a screen scheme under 'Jira settings-> Issues-> Screens-> Screens Scheme', and associate this screen as the default screen:
You could have different screens associated to different screen actions (create, edit, view). You do this from Jira settings-> Issues-> Screens->Screens Scheme-> Associate an issue operation with a screen. Otherwise all the action will be associated to the same (default) screen.
Then you can go to Jira settings-> Issues-> Screens-> Issue type screen schemes and create one:
From Project settings you can select a screen scheme by going to Screens->
Select the issue type screen scheme that you created earlier (in the example "Screen Scheme O'Fun") and associate it to your issue or issues:
And same thing for Field configuration, under Project Settings-> Field-> Actions-> Associate a different field (select Field Configuration O'Fun):
This way the project gets associated to the schemes that you created.
For the issue type that you created earlier, you'll need to add it to the project. You can do this from the project directly: Project settings-> Issues-> Edit Issue types-> Move the issue type to the table with the current issue types:
Hope it helps,
