Hi together, I have created a workflow for the type epos. I would like to connect an user defined screen if a new epos will be created.

This is the test screen I have prepared for this:

If I will create now a new epos always the default screen of the project will be displayed (which I have created for all the work types (epos, feature, sub-task, bug, organisation, ...) but not the user defined screen I have deposited in my workflow.

Project settings and used default screen:

These are the fields and their order for work items using ACL Default Screen DEMO Software NEU:

That's the screen (a part of it...) if I create a new epos in my project:

It seems for me if the user defined screen will be always overdriven by my user defined screen which I have mapped in the workflow.

Is it general not possible to map a user defined screen for the create step of a new work type or have I done something wrong?

Thank'a a lot for your answers.

Markus

Hi @Markus_Landsiedler and welcome to the Community!

To assign a screen to the create action for a work type in your project, you do not need to add it to the create transition in your workflow. Instead, you will need to associate it with the create work item action in the screen scheme for the epos work type linked to your project.

This does require quite a number of steps to set up.

  1. You need to create the screen first (which you have already done, so that's great!).
  2. Next, you'll need to set up a screen scheme with up to 3 different screens for your epos. When you do this, you will see that you can add screens for create / view / edit of your work type. It is not required that you have 3 different screens - you can use your create screen for all 3 operations if you like. As a recommendation, name the scheme Epos Screen Scheme, so you can easily tell that this is the set of screens for an epos.
  3. You will also need to set up a work type screen scheme to specify which screen scheme from step 2 will be used for each work type in a project. This is needed because you will usually will have multiple work types in a project and each work type can have its own set of up to 3 screens.
  4. Finally, you will need to associate the work type screen scheme from step 3 with your project. This will ensure the proper screen(s) are linked to the right work types in your project.

Hope this helps!
