We have developed several huge projects on Jira Cloud. Recently we have installed a licensed Jira Server and now we want to migrate all the projects to the Server. As far as I can see in the documentations it is possible to migrate single projects from cloud to server. requirement for this is that server and cloud are the same release version. Our server installation is the latest released version and should be up to date. I guess the cloud also has the latest released version. But migration fails with "missing key field".
Many of the work-arounds described in the community e.g. xml-cleaner did not help.
Our company has purchased for evaluation purposes the minimal license model. The license agreement also includes support of atlassian. I also cannot find out how to directly get support from atlassian. This is a question of license fee? or is there generally no support from atlassian?
Technically you cannot use the Cloud backup to restore single projects directly. What has to happen here is that you have to restore the entire Cloud backup to an empty Jira Server first. Only after this migration is complete, can you then generate a new XML backup in that Jira Server version and then use that file to perform a project migration to another Jira Server site.
The process to migrate projects is not trivial. To restore even a single project can be a complicated and time consuming set of steps to follow on the destination instance before the restore can be completed. But I would recommend reading all of Restoring a project from a backup. I know that is a long read, but there is a lot of information to cover there about how this works and what you need to do to make this work.
As for getting support, I would recommend checking out the Atlassian Support Offerings. It appears that you have a Starter license for Jira Server (10 user). That kind of license only has support from here on the Community site. Other licenses will have support provided by Atlassian when you use the contact support page: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/
many thanks,,,, I will try this
