How to migrate from sql express to sql server

We're wanting to get off our SQL Express instance that hosts JIRA and move to straight SQL Server.  Not exactly sure how to do this.  What's the best approach for us to move forward with this migration?

Hello @Jamell Caswell ,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

It's actually quite easy and straight-forward.

  1. Login as administrator and export JIRA to XML with the system backup tool
  2. Stop JIRA
  3. Connect to new database. Read here on how-to setup and connect to SQL Server
  4. Start JIRA
  5. And restore the XML
