How to move JIra issues/ tickets ( all of existing under a project ) from one user to another.

Jojin March 16, 2022

Is there any way to bulk move ( or change owner/user) issues from one user to another within a project.

I am able to change assignee for issues one by one. however we need to move a number of issues to another user. Please suggest any ideas.

Thank you .

You can go ahead with bulk change and edit issue.

Note: you should have bulk change permission, if not then ask you Jira admin to do the needful or ask for bulk change permission

Hi @Jojin

I would agree that the "bulk edit" operation that you linked is the default approach to this 👍

If the bulk edit doesn't quite fit your requirements, you may want to try JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing and inline-editing all your Jira fields. You can also bulk-edit fields directly in JXL via copy/paste, and undo/redo operations using the usual shortcuts.

This is how it looks in action:

You can update any number of issues in one go.

(It's worth noting that JXL can do much more than that - see https://jxl.app for more info. Disclaimer: I work on JXL.)

Hope this helps,

Hannes
