Is it possible to notify a customer by sending (or sharing) a task link without them having to open an Atlassian account?

You can certainly send an email to an individual that does not have access or is not a user of your Jira instance. I would recommend using automation for this. The question is under what triggered her event do you wish to send the individual an email and what do you want them to get out of it? For example, you can certainly send them an email with any body of information that you wish however, without having a user account, they will not be able to click on any link and access the issue.
