nirit sade January 30, 2019

We created sub bug issue type , sub bug can be opened from story and connected to story as sub task , in this way we can see all bugs under the relevant story and we can see it in dashboard. We want the ability to open sub bug from sub execution so it will be connected to story , today we dont have the ability to open sub bug from execution we can only open bug .The purpose is to open bug from execution and it will be in story not as link issue .

Hi @nirit sade,

does your Jira project also contain the Sub-Bug issue type in its issue type scheme?

What do you see, using *Create Sub-Task* in the test run of a test execution?

Best wishes
Chris

Hi @nirit sade,

  • does your Jira project also contain the Sub-Bug issue type in its issue type scheme?
  • Are sub-tasks enabled in your Jira application?
  • Are you able to create a Sub-Bug directly in a Story?

I'd recommend you opening a request the Xray vendor's service desk: https://jira.xpand-it.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/user/login?destination=portal%2F2

I bet they'll be able to resolve your problem.

Good luck!

Hi @nirit sade,

with Xray you need to check the following setup

  • Define issue type sub bug as defect issue type as described here
  • Check your Xray defect links setup here
    (i) Enable Link Defects with Requirement
  • sub bug must be available in your project

Now you should be able to create sub-bug issues via the Create Sub-Task function in a test run

(i) You need to choose the parent issue manually though

I hope that helps.

Best wishes
