Hello,
It is currently possible to create teams with the same name but having different ids, that's even teams can have different members, is there any way to avoid this?
Many users create teams themselves, which brings additional confusion, many teams created for the same people for the same project.
Can we restrict the creation of teams to administrators only?
Thank You for help.
To prevent the creation of teams with the same name in Jira Cloud and restrict team creation to administrators only, follow these steps:
Implement Naming Conventions: Establish clear guidelines for naming teams to reduce the likelihood of duplicates.
Use Permissions: Adjust user permissions to ensure only administrators can create items that lead to team formation, such as projects or boards.
Educate Users: Inform your team about the process for requesting new teams, emphasizing that only administrators can create them.
Monitor and Govern: Regularly review team setups to identify and merge duplicates, and enforce naming conventions.
How to Adjust Permissions:
Go to Jira settings > Issues.
Access Permission Schemes and modify permissions to limit project and board creation to administrators.
Communicate these changes clearly to your team.
By following these steps, you can control team creation in Jira Cloud, minimizing confusion and ensuring a more organized setup.
