How to prevent time logged through smart commits being attributed to 'Git for JIRA Cloud'

Harry May 15, 2018

I have Git Integration for Jira set up and smart commits currently work.

The issue is when a user uses the '#time' parameter in their smart commit to log time on an issue, this time is logged under a user called 'Git for JIRA Cloud' as shown in the image below.

How can I change this so the actual user is attributed to this time?

Hi Harry, how are you?

That might be happening because the user/email account which is responsible for the smart commit on the GitHub side does not have a valid account on Jira (with the correct permission to comment/log time). Could you try to create a user for that email account to check if the behavior is the same?

Check this documentation for more information about smart commits.

And check this other one for a permission overview.
