I am working on Jira Cloud and I need to add a direct link to drawings and related stuff on each issue I make. I tried making a custom field where I copied the url, but the employees then need to copy that again manually and paste it to open it.
Is there a way to put a direct link on each issue that will open a folder on our drive when it is clicked on ?
Like this for example:
T:\_ProductionData\M45-1000\M45-1000-0003
Hello @Melkorka ,
This should be easy and a can be done in the normal way - hyperlink
1. add all your files in a cloud folder
2. get a shareable link of it and paste it in the Rich text field in your jira ticket.
I have seen/done teams adding lots of web links (invision, zeplin, onedrive, sharepoint, youtube etc... in jira tickets)
From your question I see that you have added "T:\" drive -- this will not work, change it to a HTTP: based web address and it will be recognized as a hyper link.
If not use the link option and link it manually.
If you have created a separate field in Jira to add this link -- then make sure the field type is Rich text editor or a link/file based field.
Hope this helps.
Hi, thanks.
I new about the possibility of putting everything to the cloud and then use a http hyperlink but that is not a possibility for us at the moment, we have other complicated links from other software to our drive.
But I guess we will just use the manual way of copying the link and paste it on the folder search bar for now :)
