How to replace the username with Mail ID in jira

Hi All,

We have integrated LDAP with jira.

Instead of user name is it possible to give a mail ID associated with the user while logging into jira.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you looking to replace authentication using a username and password for users?

Or instead are you just wanting to change the username values to some other field in LDAP, and still have your users login with a password?

When you say Mail ID, what does this look like? Is this an email address? Or some other LDAP specific alias for an account?
