How to restrict an ability to add epic link from another Jira project?

Hi All,

I am facing challenges within my team when team members by mistake assign epic link of work item choosing the epic from another project in Jira account. How to restrict this ability, so we can assign only our project work items? And there are no cross-project linking.

Hi @Mykhailo Shukakidze - The short answer is to restrict teams from being able to have visibility into those other projects by removing them from the Browse Projects permission in each of the projects that they shouldn't be accessing those Epics.

For better or worse, it's a feature of Jira to be able to have issues link to cross-project Epics.  There is a suggestion here to add functionality that would grant administrators the ability to limit epic linking to the same project as the issue (note - It's 6 years old and only 11 votes as of this writing):
