How to search between due date and target end date

Dan Billingham March 17, 2023

Hi All,

I am looking to have a JQL that basically shows whether an objective has slipped over 3 months. So it would need to be able to look at the Due Date field and determine if it is over 3 months greater than the Target End Date field. Is this possible?

Example:

Objective 1 - Target Date 31st March, Due Date 31st July (would show up in the search).

Objective 2 - Target Date 31st March, Due Date 30th April (would not show up in the search).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Dan, natively JQL does not allow you to compare dates. However, depending on your requirements, you might consider using automation. You were basically set up a scheduled rule to run daily. You would use a condition to compare the dates and as an action, you could send an email notification. Further, the email notification could include the various dates you desire using smart values. There is a lot of great documentation on automation. Just go to bed support.atlassian.com select software and search automation dates.
