How to send email when transition from state to another state

1. I have custom fields set up for 5 users.
2. when I Transition from A to B User 1 is notified
3. when I Transition from B to C User 2 is notified
4. when I Transition from C to D User 1 is notified 
5. when I Transition from D to E User 3 is notified  

 How do I set up without using automation?

Hi @Bola Oye 

If you're using a Company-managed Project, you could use multiple custom events in your notification scheme, and add them to each workflow step as a post-function.

If this is Team-managed, I think you'd need to use Automation.
