How to send mail from jira server?

I enabled the SMTP mail server option.But while sending a Test mail the following error logs occured.

An error has occurred with sending the test email:
com.atlassian.mail.MailException: javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: No authentication mechansims supported by both server and client

Check your credentials and try again. You might have introduced your username and password incorrectly...

Looks like sth. is wrong in your mail server configuration... Are you sure you entered a valid user and password for the mail server?
