Hey, we (cobra youth) as an organization have an atlassian account with jira & confluence cloud as products.

currently we are one project.

now we want to set up a new project with dedicated separated users.

we want to avoid that all users see project details (or even the projetct itself).

how to set up this new project and assign new project team members (only for this new project)?

thx for your help.

Hi @Christopher Schering

If this is a Classic Project, you can achieve this using project permissions, see this help page

You need to modify the users who can access the permission "Browse Projects" - this is usually "Any Logged in User" by default. You could change this to either be via user group and map users into those groups - or perhaps project role, and add/remove access in the project settings.

For example, if this was via Project Role, as a Jira Admin you could:

  1. Go to Jira Settings > Issues > Permission Schemes (on left-hand side)
  2.  Select the appropriate permission scheme
  3. Press "Remove" next to Browse Projects and remove any permission which allows for unrestricted access to projects
  4. Next Press "Edit" and select an appropriate option from "Granted to" - in our example, it's Project Role
  5. Select which Project Role(s) will control access - you could select all roles or have one specific role manage access
  6. Press Grant

^ In this instance, a Project Admin could then go into Project Settings > People and manage access via who has a role in this page.

--------------

If this is a Next-Gen Project, this process differs - to manage visibility and access:

  1. On your Next-Gen Project, go to Project Settings > Access
  2. Press the grey "Change project access" button and select "Private" to manage view access per user
  3. Add/Remove users from this page to manage access - which include view access and edit access

For more information on Next-Gen permissions, see this help page.
