Google's support for OpenID has been deprecated.
Existing customers or integrations still using it are grandfathered (I think until March 2015 - but that is not an official statement. Check with Google.)
This switch happened last May/June (2014), and they now have their own more secure proprietary Google+ protocol authentication, which is very different.
AppFusions was forced to 100% re-develop Google SSO for Atlassian Confluence and JIRA authenticators in order to support this new protocol. It was worth it; they work well now (and also support 2-factor authentication and a multi-domains, optionally).
Online forums and learning are now in one easy-to-use experience.
