How to setup app certification portal

Need help setup a app certification portal in Jira.

Here is the scenario:

  • We develop platform. We have multiple projects internally.
  • External teams publishes apps on our platform.
  • We certify these apps before they launch.
  • During the certification of apps, issues are found.
    • We want to report these to the external teams using Jira.
    • They should be able to comment and change the status to Resolved
    • We should be able to comment and change the status to Closed or Reopen.

How do we go about setting this up so that

  1. One app developer does NOT have visibility into another app developer's issues
  2. Any app developer does NOT visibility into out internal platform development
  3. Its easy to setup a separate space/project/whatever for each developer (We need to support hundreds of third party app developers)

This kind of scenario seems like one that Jira Service Desk could help with.   Service Desk will allow you to let your customers create issues, let them comment and transition them, but still let you close/reopen them.

The other benefit here is the privacy settings:   Service Desk has a security scheme by default that won't let other users see requests they did not create or are not a requested participant on.  However your team would be in the Service Desk Agent role of users.  This let's them still see and action all of your customer requests as needed.
