How to stop Jira creating a new tab in your browser when you view a new page?

Hi there,

I wonder if there's away to stop Jira creating new tabs on you browser every time a user views a new issue? (generally only happens when viewing a different issue).

In my JIRA, it always open in the same window..

There are some articles about configuring to open in a new window... May be some admin configured something in your instance like in https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Open-link-in-new-window/qaq-p/391124 ?
