How to sum up time spent on parent issue?

Bengi Biber June 23, 2020

Hello,

I need a way to show the sum of  time logged on sub-tasks on the parent issue.

what we are doing right now is to export the issues to excel and prepare the reports from there. But I want to show the total time spent in a parent issue on one report.

Also in the workflow, we are considering to generate a condition to check  if there is a time log on the parent issue.

Thanks for all the help :)

I am not sure if there is other easy approach....but the way I am getting is, by creating structure and adding a column (∑ Time Spent) and export from Structure.   You can get sum at all levels this way.

Hope this helps.

Hello Ram, thanks for the replay. However we do not use Structure right now.

At first I would like to try something else, but if can not do this without an add-on, I will definitely consider Structure.

Have a nice day.

Hi Bengi - The other-way you can get what you are looking for is, use "issues --> search for issue" and use filter criteria to list only selected issues (example -  stories).

Now, add column   "∑ Time Spent"  to see sum at parent /story level :-)

Hello Ram,

Right now I am using that method and exporting issues to excel for reports. But, I want to see the sum of time log in the parent issue.

Thanks :)
