How to update Jira Test Instance

Hello everyone,

We are currently using Jira Data Center and it is my job to bring the current TEST environment up to date with the PROD environment. we are using a PostgreSQL database. We don't have any documentation on this and I'm still fairly new to the Atlassian environment.

I would be more than grateful if anyone has already gained some initial experience and would like to pass it on. Preferably step-by-step instructions
