How to update plugins manually

siddharth December 27, 2018

Hi, I am upgrading Jira from 6.4.7 to Jira 7.13.0 (via interim update 7.0.0).I had several plugins installed on 6.4.7, my query is :

  1.  Do i need to update plugins to 7.0.0 and then 7.13.0
  2. Do i need to update each plugin 1 by 1 manually.
  3. Since its a test environment no internet connection is available how do i manually update plugins without loss of any data.

Hi @siddharth

I don't think it's mandatory to update plugins  to 7.0.0 first but I'd recommend it, when Jira 7 was released they made a lot of DB changes.

Yes, you need to update plugins 1 by 1 manually, if you do not have internet connection you nneed to download the the corresponding versions from the marketplace (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/) and then upload them using the  Jira administration interface.

Hope this helps

Thanks @Charly [DEISER],

I have done as per suggested by you.How can i validate if it is properly updated, (for eg.

JIRA Subversion plugin), its configuration and validate it as per production.
