How to use an existing epic in the board's roadmap

Hi there,

We have one project with 5 boards.

Each board is differentiated by its own epic which is added to the board's filter query. And the issues under the epic gets displayed accordingly. 

Now the thing is we would like to utilise the roadmap feature in jira for each board.

Since an epic is used in the filter query for each board, I am unable to create a new epic just for the roadmap purpose neither I am able to use the existing epic as well since we don't have such options to do. 

How can I use my existing epic in the roadmap that has around 300+ issues in each board.?

It sound like you are wanting to create a roadmap that uses all 5 epics on it? Is that correct?
