How to view stories that have subtasks in appropriate swimlanes?

Ortal Gefen September 3, 2021

I am currently using a company-managed project, where previously we were using team-managed. While company-managed has a lot of nice features, this one we do not like.

I want to be able to see every story in the appropriate swim-line (in progress, done, etc) rather than having stories with subtasks span the entire row and subtasks move across the board.

This will allow me to at a glance see where the stories are in the current sprint.

I know how to filter out subtasks, this does not solve the issue.

Hi @Ortal Gefen

Can you please share a screenshot of what you are seeing and what you expect to see?

Also, can you share your board filter and the swimlane configurations you have configured?

Thanks

Hi @Fabian Lim

What I want to see::
every story in its appropriate swimlane, on a USER STORY level. see example from team managed project:

what I see: stories spanning across the top and the user sub tasks are what I can drag across from swimlane to swimlane.

Thanks for sharing.

  1. Update your board filter to only include stories: project = cloud and issuetype in (story) order by rank asc
  2. Update the swimlane option to no swimlanes: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-swimlanes/

Regards
