Hi everyone!
I am struggling to see my timeline next to my group by release.
Can Jira summarize target ends of grouped issues and show that summarized timeline?
I would like that the group line have the summarized timeline next to it, this line (group line) is now empty as it can be seen in the picture below.

My initiatives do have the timeline as in pic below:
Thank you very much for the intel.
Best Regards,

Hi @Filip Loukotka
It's Mary from Planyway for Jira: timeline, workload, time tracking
To provide you with the most accurate guidance, I would need a bit more detail about your specific setup in Jira, such as the Jira version you're using (Cloud, Server, Data Center) and the view or board (e.g., Scrum board, Kanban board, Roadmap) where you're trying to see this timeline. However, I'll give you a general idea of how Jira can handle grouped issues by release and display timelines, and then we can adjust based on your specific circumstances.
In Jira, particularly with the Jira Software Cloud version that includes Advanced Roadmaps (for premium and enterprise plans), you can group issues by various fields, including releases (versions). Advanced Roadmaps allows for more sophisticated planning, including visualizing issues on a timeline, grouping by projects, releases, and other fields, and even summarizing information across multiple projects.
To see a timeline next to your group by release, you might want to use the Roadmap feature in Jira Software Cloud or the Advanced Roadmaps feature if you have access to it. Here's how you can generally approach this:

Hello Maria!
Thanks for getting back to me that quickly :)
For the additional questions I have the answers.
Our Jira :
- is server / data center based
- have Advanced roadmaps plugin installed
- have all the release filled in our initiatives
I don't know, if I explained it enough, but I would like that the group line have the summarized timeline next to it, this line (group line) is now empty as it can be seen in the picture above.
Do we need something else, that not have been mentioned yet?
What it could be?
Thank you for your answers, really appreciate it.
Yours sincerely,
Filip L.
