I want to write custom reports for following - as i cannot install any plugins from market place

I need a report for each component that i have set up in jira so that i can get time spent on each component during a time frame

issue type would be epic/story/bug

I created a jql and saved it, and using in custom report, i get no result.

If i run the jql on its own, i get a list of issues which i need to sum up. Am looking for a way where if i get to the report I get the summed up amount

This sentence is a "microsoft statement" in your question - technically accurate, but utterly useless.  Tell us what the JQL returns in the search, what "custom report" you are running and how it is working with the JQL
