No permission to complete a Sprint

Hello,

A board named PS admin can manage sprints for the PS project associated with the board.

He is not able to manage sprint for another project called XS added to his backlog sprints view even though he has the manage sprint rights for the project XS.

Note:  He uses a board filter of (labels = XX OR "Epic Link" = PS-26 OR "Epic Link" = PS-112) which pulls several project issues that he does not have the manager permissions of however none of these tickets are associated with his sprints other than XS project and like I said he has the manage sprints permissions for this one.

Could you please help me to understand why he cannot manage the XS project sprint when he has the manage sprints? Does he need to have the project admin permissions or for some reason he needs to have manage sprint permissions for all the projects the board query pulls even though they do not associate with any of his sprints?

Any help will be appreciated.

Elif

Glad you got it fixed.

Managing project permissions

These sprint tasks require Schedule Issues and Edit Issues permission:

  • move, reorder, rank issues
  • add and remove issues to/from the sprint

If you want to move the sprint footer you also need the Manage Sprints permission.

The next link discusses a board's filter query more in depth:

I added him as a Project Admin to test if it resolves this problem and it did.  So instead of admin , I just need to give him Schedule & Edit Issues permissions??? Can you explain me why Schedule issues permission?

The relevant permissions besides Manage Sprints are Schedule Issues & Edit Issues.
