How can I add "comment" field when creating a new dashboard from filter? It was not in the selection drop down fields i.e. "columns to display".

Comment field is not available for dashboard and issue navigator. Issue still open with Atlassian. Looks like they won't implement this feature, as the issue may have multiple comments, then UI will be ugly.
Correct, comments would not produce usable results.
