I am not given the option to switch to a kanban template but am forced to agility only.
I am aware that I am supposed to see a dropdown under Template to chose which template I want. However, that drop down is not appearing for me. Assistance?
Hi Lisa,
At one of my former companies, we had the same issue with some users not being able to switch the board type. It's a permissions setting that needs to be added to your user account to allow you to change that. I would speak to your Atlassian Admin and have them add that for you. It's a simple fix and you'll be up and running in no time.
Take care!
Neil
Thanks guys! I don't want to be messing with an agility project at all since I am familiar with Kanban. I'll ask for the permissions setting

@Lisa Nicholson, welcome to the Community. Do you have an existing project that you are trying to add a board to? If this is an Agility project and and don't want it to be Agility you need to change it to a SW or Business project. Can you provide more info? Maybe some screenshots of the project and where you are trying to setup Kanban?

I see following when I create a Project:
Hi Jack, You are a lifesaver!
I am being forced into the Agility template with no option to switch to a Kanban board
My main issue is that I cannot choose an epic as an issue type which is something that I would like to do and which are "coming" for Agility but are not here now.
I am thinking this has something to do with my permission settings. There are supposed to be special permissions to create agility templates but it looks like the only permissions I have are to create agility templates.
I am supposed to be able to see the option to change a template where the “preview” button is above:
And then I am supposed to be able to choose the template:

TBH, i don't mess w/ Agility projects in real life. only here in the community to help others. In looking at your screenshots you show the Epic Project as a Scrum so you should be able to create a new project as Scrum or click the "Change" link and you can choose Kanban right? Are these not screenshots from your system?
