 I am trying to add a new user to Jira cloud. However it fails without any specific reason. I only get a general message: "We’re unable to invite deactivated accounts Remove or reactivate deactivated accounts, then try again."

Hi @Chaitanya and welcome to the Community!

The message you are getting there is pretty specific. It means that the user you are trying to add already exists with the mail address you are trying to use, but in a deactivated state.

It may be that this is in your site. Search your user list to find out if it is already there and - if so - reactivate the account first. It is also possible that the email address is managed by a company and that it has been deactivated there. In that case, only that company can reactivate the account or you'll have to invite the user with a different email address.
